Isabel Meciar

Isabel Meciar is a final-year PhD candidate at the Centre of Research Excellence on Achieving the Tobacco Endgame, School of Public Health, The University of Queensland. Her research examines the illicit tobacco trade in Australia, with a focus on strengthening tobacco supply-chain governance and controls. She has published in leading peer-reviewed journals, contributed to multiple Australian Federal and State government submissions on illicit tobacco regulation, undertaken commissioned research for Australian law enforcement and public health organisations, and has international experience working with the Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Her research sits at the intersection of public health, law enforcement, and international policy.
