Irene Zarza-Rubio

(She/her)

I hold an undergraduate degree in English Studies from Universitat de València, Spain. My dissertation explored representations of gangsters in film through the decades, specifically examining the impact of the adaptation of The Godfather from novel to film trilogy.

I subsequently earned an MLitt in Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture from the University of St Andrews. My dissertation focused on unfinished or open-ended literary works and their adaptations to television, with a particular emphasis on The Handmaid's Tale and A Song of Ice and Fire.

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Film Theory and Media Industries. My research investigates contemporary mythologies, with a specific focus on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
