Ingrid is Professor of German Cultural and Gender History in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Leeds, UK.
Ingrid Sharp has published widely on aspects of gender relations in German history, including sexuality in the GDR and Weimar and cultural and media representations of gender during and after the First World War.
From 2017-18 she was Principal Investigator of an AHRC-funded collaborative project on revolutionary women, working with Bradford theatre company Bent Architect and Bradford Peace Museum to create a new play, Women of Aktion, and exhibition to celebrate women’s revolutionary activism during 1918-19.
She also leads the Resistance to War strand of the Legacies of War project at the University of Leeds. This project works with local, national and international partners and will coordinate commemorative activities and research on the First World War between 2014 and 2018.
