I have always been interested in astrophysics. I now work on testing whether the Hubble crisis facing cosmology is caused by our location in a large void inflating local measurements of the cosmic expansion rate. I previously worked on testing whether galaxies are mainly held together by an invisible substance called dark matter or by a tweak to Newton's law of gravity in situations where it has not been directly tested. I used wide binary stars to decisively reject the hypothesis known as Milgromian dynamics or MOND on small scales (MNRAS, 527, 4573). I have also worked on the El Gordo galaxy cluster and the impact of tides on dwarf galaxies in the Fornax Cluster.
