Idrissa Manka est doctorant en anthropologie et en archéologie à l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD), rattaché au Département d’Histoire et à l’Unité de Recherche en Ingénierie Culturelle et Anthropologie (URICA). Il est également chercheur collaborateur au Laboratoire d’archéobotanique et de paléoécologie (LAPE) de l’Université de Bohême du Sud, République Tchéque. Ses recherches, à l’interface de l’archéologie, de l’anthropologie culturelle, de l’ethnobotanique, de l’archéobotanique et de l’écologie culturelle, portent sur les établissements abandonnés, les communautés déplacées, les savoirs écologiques traditionnels et les patrimoines bioculturels. Elles analysent les interactions entre sociétés humaines, plantes et territoires, avec un intérêt particulier pour les communautés locales autour du Parc national du Niokolo-Koba, dans le sud-est du Sénégal.
