Hyounjeong Yoo

Currently teaching Korean in the Department of Modern Languages at Carleton University, I established the Korean language program and have played a key role in developing Korean studies on campus. I am also a PhD candidate in Applied Linguistics, specializing in Willingness to Communicate and speaking anxiety in Korean as a Foreign Language classrooms. In addition to my academic work, I recently published The Hidden Gems: The Undiscovered Best in Korean Cinema, a book designed to guide Western audiences interested in Korean films by introducing influential works released from the early 2000s to the present.
