Dr Hossein Abroshan brings over 25 years of professional and academic experience spanning multiple industries and higher education institutions. He earned his PhD in Cyber Security (Business Economics) from Ghent University, where his research focused on the impact of human factors on cyber scams.
Throughout his career, Hossein has held a range of leadership and technical roles, including Lecturer, Researcher, Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Chief Technical Officer (CTO), and Cybersecurity/AI Specialist. His expertise spans sectors such as academia, research, banking, telecommunications, and manufacturing.
He has led several UK-funded initiatives and contributed to technical work packages in EU-funded projects, demonstrating a strong track record in applied cybersecurity and AI research. Actively engaged in the academic community, Hossein serves as Vice Chair of the IEEE UK and Ireland Computational Intelligence Chapter and holds editorial positions with peer-reviewed journals.
He is currently the Director of the Cybersecurity, Applications, and Networking Research Group at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), where he also serves as Course Director for the MSc Cyber Security program.
