Henry Matthews holds a BA (Hons) in Modern History with Economics from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Agribusiness for Development from Imperial College London. He grew up on, and later managed, a mixed family farm, grounding his academic expertise in practical agricultural experience. He now works at Writtle, part of Anglia Ruskin University, where he contributes to teaching and applied research in agriculture and rural development. Over a 25-year consultancy career, he has worked extensively across the former Soviet countries, most recently in Central Asia with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. His international experience also spans projects in Africa and South America, focusing on agribusiness development, food systems, and rural economies.
