I am an Associate Professor of Microbiology at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, NZ. I am the co-science lead of the Adaptable Phage Solutions MBIE Programme running from 2024-2029. I have a PhD in Biology from the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology Program at the University of Pittsburgh. My thesis involved the evolution of bacteria and the process of Horizontal Gene Transfer. I was awarded a Human Frontier of Science Program Long (HFSP) Term Fellowship to work in the Biochemistry Department at Oxford.
