Harrison J. Ostridge

  • Scientist, UCL Genetics Institute, UCL

I completed my PhD at University College London in 2024, supervised by Prof Aida Andrés and Dr Jinliang Wang. During my PhD, I led the investigation of local adaptation in wild chimpanzees using hundreds of faecal samples collected as part of the PanAf Programme, which is published in Science.

My interest in the use of science to inform policy has led me to my current role in the Government Office for Science. As a member of the foresight team, I investigate key trends in science and technology and explore future scenarios to ensure the UK government is prepared for the risks and opportunities they may present.
