Dr Harriet Wishart is a Senior Lecturer in Agriculture and Animal Science, and Course Director of Undergraduate Agriculture and Horticulture courses at ARU Writtle, specialising in Precision Livestock Farming and sustainable animal production. Raised on a family beef and arable farm in East Anglia, she brings practical, lived experience to her research and teaching. She holds a PhD from Scotland’s Rural College and the University of Edinburgh, with research focused on applying precision technologies to sheep systems in extensive Scottish hill environments. She teaches and researches livestock welfare, how farmers adopt and integrate new technologies, and practical ways to improve productivity and the efficiency of modern livestock systems. Her work also explores how these innovations can support regenerative agriculture, helping farms build long‑term environmental resilience.
