- Distinguished University Professor (Emerita), Departments of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences, and of Pediatrics, McMaster University
A psychiatrist and pediatrician who has been involved in family violence research for more than three decades, I retired in July 2024 from my position as a full-time clinician-scientist at McMaster University and now focus on consultations and ongoing collaborations with colleagues. My research has focused on understanding the epidemiology of violence against children and women and conducting randomized controlled trials evaluating interventions to reduce child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and associated mental health impairment.
