- PhD Candidate in Geography and Planning, Queen's University, Ontario
I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography and Planning at Queen's University. I am also currently a visiting PhD student at Cornell University's Department of Science and Technology Studies. My research interests include human-animal relationships, extinction, environmental history, and sound studies. My PhD, funded by a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, explores interactions between humans and extinct/ endangered birds through sound, with a particular focus on the Ivory-billed Woodpecker. Other research projects have included the environmental conservation of outer space and the contested relationships between humans and animals in cities. I hold an MA from the University of Sussex, and a BA (Hons) from the University of Birmingham, UK.
