My research interests and publications are in Old Norse language, literature and culture, particularly poetry, humour, and literary-legal relations. I am Bibliography Editor (and former Research Associate) on the international editing project Skaldic Poetry of the Scandinavian Middle Ages, honorary secretary of the Viking Society for Northern Research, and a Trustee of the Scottish Society for Northern Studies.
