Gwilym David Blunt is a Lecturer in International Relations at the Department of International Politics at City, University of London. He is the author of Global Poverty, Injustice, and Resistance (Cambridge University Press, 2019).
He was previously a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow and a fellow of Corpus Christi College. He took his doctorate from University College London, for his thesis: Transnational Philanthropy, Justice, and Domination.
His research Interests involve contemporary political philosophy and the history of political thought. David's interest in contemporary political philosophy is focussed on transnational socioeconomic justice, the ethics of political violence, as well as conceptions of power and domination. He is also interested in the relationship between ideal theory models and guidance in non-ideal circumstances, with special attention paid to the justifiability of political violence.
