Gustav Cederlöf

Gustav Cederlöf is an Associate Professor of Environmental Social Science at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He previously taught at King's College London and the London School of Economics.

Gustav's research explores the political and cultural dimensions of environmental change, focusing on the relationship between energy systems and social life as well as disasters. He is also an expert on the history of socialist Cuba and radical solutions to the climate crisis.

Gustav is the author of two books, The Low-Carbon Contradiction: Energy Transition, Geopolitics, and the Infrastructural State in Cuba (University of California Press, 2023) and Discovering Political Ecology (with Alex Loftus, Routledge, 2024).
