Research in the Towers lab focusses on understanding the molecular details of host-virus interactions, to develop novel therapeutic approaches for viral infection and to use viruses to help understand mammalian cell biology and evolution.

Our work aims to understand the molecular details of host virus interactions. We focus on human immunodeficiency virus type 1, the cause of AIDS in humans, and its relationship with the innate immune system.
