Greg Beckett

(He/him)

I am a cultural anthropologist interested in how political and ethical relations take shape in peoples's everyday lives. My work focuses on the state, government and nongovernmental organizations, community organizing, international intervention, violence, and humanitarianism and I am especially interested in how people talk about and make sense of crisis. My geographic area of expertise is the Caribbean, specifically Haiti, where I have worked for about twenty years.
