- Postdoctoral Scholar in Epidemiology, Carolina Population Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
I am a social and infectious disease epidemiologist. My work lies at the intersection of biology, sociology, and epidemiology. I am interested in how social processes across the life course, particularly structural disadvantage, impact a person’s biology through exposure to infections. The central premise of my body of work is that those who are most structurally disadvantaged are also more likely to be exposed to and develop disease from infectious pathogens, resulting in a process of accelerated aging.
I have a PhD in Epidemiologic Science from the University of Michigan. I hold masters degrees from Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University. I am currently a post doctoral scholar at the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
