Gowokani Chijere Chirwa

Dr. Chirwa holds both a BA and an MA in Economics from the University of Malawi and earned his PhD from the University of York in the United Kingdom. He is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Malawi.

He also holds the position of Extraordinary Associate Professor of Economics at North West University in South Africa.

He has published widely on diverse economic issues, with expertise in health economics, microeconometric applications, impact evaluation, and economic evaluation. More recently, his research has expanded to include the evolving digital landscape and its implications for the Malawian economy.
