Gokhan Mustafaoglu

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Mustafaoğlu is a senior archaeologist at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University specializing in the Neolithic transition and the Early Holocene of Central Anatolia/Türkiye. He currently serves as the Scientific Advisor for the Pınarbaşı Yaylası salvage excavations and was the long-standing Deputy Director of the Boncuklu Höyük project.Mustafaoğlu is widely recognized for his high-impact international research on the origins of agriculture and kinship patterns. His work has been published in premier scientific journals, including Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), and Current Biology. Beyond his academic contributions, he is a leading expert in Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment (CHIA), having managed heritage protocols for major international infrastructure projects like TANAP and the BTC pipeline projects.
