Godred Fairhurst

I am an Internet Engineer, specialising in Transport, Rural Broadband Access and Satellite Networking. I hold a Chair in the School of Engineering and I am committed to the ethos of education in a balanced education that includes all branches of engineering. I contribute to the School’s General Engineering programme of research-led teaching, including courses, laboratory activities and undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision.

I am committed to open standards document, which are key to the working of the Internet. I am a member of the Internet Society (ISOC) and active in standards development within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in both the Transport and Internet Areas. I chair the Transport and Services Working Group and I am a member of the IETF Transport Directorate. I have authored 16 RFCs with 60 citations from other standards documents. Some activities.
