Dr. Glenn Sterner is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice in the College of Social Work at the University of Kentucky. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at The Pennsylvania State University and the coordinator of the Greater Philadelphia Office of the Penn State Criminal Justice Center. His research agenda focuses on the intersection of criminal justice and public health, addressing substance use issues, gambling, and human trafficking. He has developed a research portfolio that encompassed over 20 funded projects for a total of over $12.5 million in funding, resulting in over two dozen articles, book chapters and special reports. Dr. Sterner's projects have focused heavily on improving the understanding of opioid and related addictions issues in Pennsylvania and in communities across the country, for which he was named the 2022 Rural Health Here of the Year by the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health. His work has been supported extensively by various federal agencies and the Pennsylvania state government, for projects such as the ongoing PA Assessment of Interactive Gaming and the evaluation of the impacts of the opioid settlement funding in Pennsylvania.
