Glenn Burgess

I am an expert in the history of political thought, especially that of the 16th and 17th centuries. Having worked at Hull since 1994, I spend 10 years as a senior manager before returning to teaching and research in 2019. I have just completed a book on George Orwell and free speech, and am currently working on the history of intellectual freedom since 1500 and a shot book on academic freedom / free speech debates today.
