Giulia Gionchetta

(Her/She)

I am an environmental microbiologist with a strong focus on microbial processes and the development of innovative approaches to quantify and monitor antimicrobial resistance (AMR) diffusion across interconnected ecosystems, such as water, soil, and the atmosphere. My research aims to design and optimize workflows that contribute to new strategies to limit or prevent AMR dissemination and accumulation. In parallel, I am increasingly interested in One Health-oriented cohort studies and the investigation of human-related matrices, exploring how environmental exposures and microbial dynamics influence human health. Through this integrative perspective, my goal is to bridge environmental and biomedical research, providing a more holistic understanding of AMR transmission routes and its broader ecological and health implications.
