Giulia Gentile is Lecturer in Law at Essex Law School. Her research focuses on the promotion of human rights in the digital society and EU constitutional law. Giulia joined Essex Law School in 2023, having previously worked at LSE Law School, Maastricht University and King’s College London. She was visiting scholar at the European University Institute (Florence), the University Panthéon-Assas, (Paris) and the Max Planck Institute of European Procedural Law (Luxembourg). She holds a PhD and an LLM from King’s College London, and her PhD thesis won the 2021 European Public Law Organization PhD Thesis Prize. She is also a qualified lawyer at the Italian Bar Association and has gained legal practice experience at the Court of Justice of the EU and at Clifford Chance (Milan).
