Giorgio is a geologist who is passionate about the sea and scuba-diving. He unites this passion with scientific research activity. In 2009, he earned his PhD from the University of Rome "Sapienza." The main topics of his dissertation were a general review of global warming causes and climate modifications, and carbon capture and storage methods.
Currently, he is working at the Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage at the Heriot-Watt University where he is involved in researches about the environmental impact of CO2 geological storage.
