Gert-Jan Pepping

I am Professor of Human Movement Sciences at Australian Catholic University. My academic background is in sport and exercise science, with a PhD focused on perception–action coupling and the ecological approach to skilled performance. I have held academic positions in Europe and Australia, and my research explores how people move, perceive, and make decisions in dynamic environments—ranging from elite sport to healthy ageing. My work integrates ecological psychology, skill acquisition, and emerging technologies such as wearables and immersive systems, with a strong emphasis on real-world application.
