George A Heckman

I am a physician certified in Geriatric (McMaster University, 2000) and Internal Medicine (University of Toronto, 1999) practicing in Kitchener-Waterloo. My practice includes long term care and retirement homes, primary care, specialized heart failure care, and hospital consultation. I was Associate Professor in the School of Public Health Sciences, and Schlegel Research Chair in Geriatric Medicine., from 2010 to 2024. I am currently Associate Professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Western University and Clinician Research at the Lawson Research Institute. I focus on health services research and models of care for frail older persons. I am a member of interRAI, an international not-for-profit scientific organization, and Vice-Chair of the Instrument and Systems Development committee.
