Genevieve Sekumbo

I am a PhD candidate with the Anthropology and Sociology Department at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva Switzerland.

My current PhD research focuses on youth subjectivities as it pertains to the expansion of the oil and gas industry. As such, my research intersects with themes relating to sub-Saharan youth, their aspirations and youth transitions, as well as extractive economies.

In addition to the above, more broadly, I am interested in research that focuses on future work and informal economies within Sub Sahara Africa.
