Genecy Calado de Melo

Dr Calado, is a qualified dentist and a lecturer in RCSI School of Dentistry with a strong background in oral pathology and a special interest in improving how oral cancer is diagnosed. His PhD focused on using vibrational spectroscopy—specifically Raman spectroscopy—to detect early changes in potentially cancerous oral lesions. His innovative research brought a new approach to non-invasive diagnosis and was widely published in peer-reviewed journals.
