Gemma Hamilton

Dr. Gemma Hamilton is a senior lecturer in Criminology and Justice Studies at RMIT University, Melbourne. She is an interdisciplinary scholar in criminology and forensic psychology, internationally recognised for her research on sexual assault, family violence, policing, and investigative interviewing. Gemma is the author of the recent book, The Intersections of Family Violence and Sexual Offending. She is currently working on an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) titled, 'Sexual Offence Interviewing: Towards Victim-Survivor Well-Being and Justice' (2024-27).

Dr. Hamilton has recently finished a 3-year term as Editor-in-Chief of Investigative Interviewing: Research and Practice (II:RP), the official journal of the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIIRG). She now serves as an Associate Editor at Legal and Criminological Psychology, a high-impact journal with The British Psychological Society.

Dr. Hamilton is a Gender & Social Change theme leader at RMIT's Social Equity Research Centre.
