Gede Primahadi Wijaya Rajeg

I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics, at the University of Oxford, UK, and am a lecturer at the Bachelor of English Literature and the Doctoral and Master's Program of Linguistics, in the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. My postdoctoral work was part of a project titled "Lexical Resources for Enggano, a Threatened Language of Indonesia" funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) (Grant ID: AH/W007290/1; PI: Prof. Mary Dalrymple; Co-PI: Prof. I Wayan Arka). This project aims at building historical and contemporary lexical databases, including the production of print and digital dictionaries, for Enggano (spoken on the Enggano island, off the western coast of Sumatra). Outputs of the Enggano documentation and lexicography research are available at https://portal.sds.ox.ac.uk/Enggano

At Udayana University, I convene and design the Corpus Linguistics course in the Doctoral Program of Linguistics; this course introduces students to the use of large textual databases (language corpora), computational tools, and basic quantitative methods to study aspects of language. I have been a member of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on the Humanities and Social Sciences (CIRHSS, https://www.cirhss.org/). Since 2018, I am a certified instructor (https://carpentries.org/instructors/) for "The Carpentries" (https://carpentries.org/), especially for teaching the R programming language.

I am also an elected member of the Indonesian Young Academy of Science (Akademi Ilmuwan Muda Indonesia [ALMI]) (https://almi.or.id/view/anggota-almi/entry/1948/)

I am interested in Cognitive Linguistics, usage-based Construction Grammar, Corpus Linguistics, Lexicology and Lexicography, Austronesian Linguistics, Digital Humanities, Data Science, and Open Science. In my research, I largely use open-source, programmatic tools, especially the R programming language.
