Dr. Gavin Brent Sullivan is a Professor of Social Psychology at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin.

Gavin’s early work in psychology was as a theoretical, philosophical and critical psychologist with a strong interest in Wittgenstein’s philosophy, Vygotsky’s psychology, discursive psychology and defensible forms of social constructionism. He has subsequently published theoretical and research articles on such topics as self and borderline personality disorder, psychotherapy and language/conversation, and Wittgenstein´s relevance to psychology with a more recent research focus on qualitative research methods, immersive and virtual qualitative analyses, pride and self-conscious emotions, collective pride and hubris/collective emotions, and political psychology topics (e.g., reactionism, ressentiment, etc.. He led a research group and taught on the Masters of Public Administration at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University. He now teaches undergraduate and postgraduate social psychology, environmental psychology, advanced research methods and qualitative research at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin, Germany and teaches on Erasmus Mundus Joint Master: Social Psychology of Transformation – Understanding and Mastering Social Change.
