Gary Dirks

Dr. Dirks recieved a Ph D in Chemistry in 1980 and pursued a first career with BP ( British Petroleum). He retired in 2009 as President of BP China and BP Asia Pacific.

He joined Arizona State University in 2009 as a Professor of Practice wherevhe became the Founing Director of LightWorks a low carbon energy initiative. He has since served as founding director of the Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation and Director of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability. He now serves as Senior Director of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory and founding Director of Energy Forward.
