Fredric Bauer

Fredric Bauer is Senior Lecturer in Technology and Society at Lund University, Sweden. His research examines the transformation of energy- and resource-intensive industries, with a particular focus on the chemical and petrochemical sectors, plastics, and their links to fossil resources. His work connects questions of industrial innovation, finance and governance with the broader challenge of transforming industrial production toward environmentally sustainable systems. His research has addressed sustainable plastics, industrial decarbonisation, and the phase-out of fossil-based production in the climate transition. Bauer has led and contributed to interdisciplinary research projects on sustainable plastics and petrochemicals and regularly engages in public and policy discussions on industrial transformation, plastics, and climate change.
