Professor Frikkie Booysen is the PPS Chair in Health Economics in the School of Economics and Finance (SEF) at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. His current research focuses on health inequality and family health and the socio-economics of diseases and deaths of despair. He is an NRF-rated reseearcher and a Fulbright scholar.
