Francisco Cervantes Peralta

Francisco Cervantes holds a PhD in Statistical Ecology by the University of Cape Town. He is an ecologist focused on modelling complex dynamics and movements of wildlife populations. He is particularly interested in crossing disciplinary boundaries, and in those applications that tackle human impacts on biodiversity. Currently, he occupies a joint position between the Centre for Statistics in Ecology, Environment and Conservation and the South African National Biodiversity Institute, where he works on wetlands and waterbird conservation. Apart from this, he has also worked extensively trying to harmonise renewable energy development with biodiversity conservation.
