Fiorella Parra-Mujica

I am a PhD candidate in Health Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, with research focused on health inequalities, environmental health, and development economics. My work applies quasi-experimental methods to understand how social and environmental factors shape population health, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. I have published in journals including The Lancet, Social Science & Medicine, and the European Journal of Health Economics, and my current research explores topics such as the impacts of climate change on health and gender-based violence, as well as inequalities in chronic disease risk.

Alongside my research, I have experience in policy and academia across international settings. I have worked at the University of Oxford, the University of York, and the Pan-American Health Organization, contributing to research and policy analysis on public health and policy evaluation. I also teach and supervise graduate students in health economics, and I am committed to bridging rigorous empirical research with policy-relevant insights that address global health challenges.
