Felicity Boardman

I gained my PhD in 2010 from the University of Warwick focusing on the experiences of families living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. I went on to take up a Mildred Blaxter Post-Doctoral Fellowship, an ESRC Future Research Leaders Award and then a Wellcome Trust Investigator Award. I have conducted various research studies on the social and ethical implications of genetic screening, with a particular emphasis on newborn screening for rare diseases. I am a council member at Nuffield Council on Bioethics and sit on the Fetal, Maternal and Child Helath Reference Group of the National Screening Committee. At Warwick, I chair the interdisciplinary health research spotlight which focuses on catalysing interdisciplinary research and impact across campus and beyond.
