I am a historian of American religions, specializing in occult religions and technologies, religion and science, church/state relations, and various combinations thereof. Most recently, I have been focusing my teaching and research on religious environmentalist movements, social justice, and conflict resolution, although I still make space in my teaching schedule for a hefty serving of apocalypses, ghosts and machines, and good-old-fashioned research seminars.
