Erica von Essen is a non-disciplinary researcher, conducting empirical and theoretical research on human-animal relations in modern society. She has looked at the scope of human-wildlife interactions including conflicts, killing, ethics, wildlife tourism, digital animal encounter, wildlife management, rewilding and hunting. She is especially knowledgeable in matters pertaining to wolves, wild boar and to all things hunting.
Erica is published across a wide range of disciplinary communities such as Rural Sociology, Criminology, More-than-human geography, Environmental Ethics and Communication Studies. She is a reviewer for more than 18 peer-reviewed journals, engaging in the scope of human-animal topics. Her popular scientific publications can also be found in hunting magazines.
