Erica Millar

(she/her)

Erica is a Senior Lecturer at La Trobe University. She has published widely on the cultural, legal, and health system regulation of abortion, with particular attention to the intersections of regulatory frameworks with gender, race, and class.

She is the author of *Happy Abortions* (Bloomsbury, 2017), a cultural history of abortion in Australia from 1969 to 2008. She is currently completing her second monograph, *Institutional Abortion Stigma*, which draws on an ARC-funded study of hospital-based abortion provision to examine how sexism and racism embedded in healthcare systems perpetuate social disadvantage.
