I am a veterinarian and epidemiologist with work experience in international development, public health, sustainable aquaculture systems, livestock health, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and wildlife conservation. I have clinical and population-level experience working with dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and fish. I am currently enrolled in Cornell University's PhD Program in Biomedical & Biological Sciences with a concentration in Population Medicine and Epidemiology. My PhD research focuses on the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry in Kenya through disease and AMR surveillance, education/training of cage aquaculture farmers, identifying biosecurity and knowledge gaps in cage production systems, and assessing the nutritional and toxin content of tilapia muscle fillets across different production systems (cage, pond, RAS, wild).
