Our lab works at the frontier between spatial ecology and biodiversity sciences to try to understand how anthropogenic perturbations will influence the dynamic and functioning of biotic community across entire landscapes.

To do so, we use a variety of different approaches (theory, experiments, fieldwork) with a special focus on cross-ecosystem couplings. We envision landscapes not as a set of independent ecological entities, but more as a dynamic mosaic of habitats interacting with one another via the active and passive movement of organisms and material. In short our lab philosophy is: go with the flow!
