Enqi Weng

(she/her)

As a media sociologist, I am deeply interested in how discourses, narratives and stories about our social world shape our intercultural interactions and relationships.

I have over a decade of expertise in equity and inclusion research for diverse communities in Australia, gained through my doctoral and postdoctoral research on government- and industry-funded projects. My work is driven by a passion to see human society flourish, through the inclusion, equitable access, and well-being of people from diverse backgrounds.

I currently teach media and communications subjects at Deakin University, and hold the position of Managing Editor for the Journal of Religion, Media and Digital Culture.

Before academia, I was a communications practitioner with experience in marketing communications, entrepreneurship, branding and stakeholder relations, and was involved in work that advocates for gender equity, environmental sustainability and inclusion for marginalised youth in Singapore.
