Emma has a PhD in Sociology from Macquarie University. She is a Research Fellow in the School of Communications, Society, and Culture at Macquarie University. Her Fellowship project uses a child-centred, creative approach to investigate how children’s care activities help sustain low-income families. Emma specialises in qualitative methodologies. Emma is the author of the book, Making a Life on Mean Welfare: Voices from Multicultural Sydney (Policy Press, 2023).
