- Senior Social Science Research Manager, Zoos Victoria, and PhD Candidate, The University of Queensland
Emily McLeod is the Senior Social Science Research Manager at Zoos Victoria. Her research focuses on how conservation organisations can best connect people with wildlife and the environment with the goal of fostering sustainable behaviours in the broader community. This work helps to inform the development and evaluation of community conservation behaviour change campaigns at Zoos Victoria. With an interdisciplinary background in psychology and zoology, Emily’s previous research has explored flight distances in a range of bird species, and the impact of human-zoo animal interactions on animal welfare and zoo visitor experiences. Emily has a particular interest in wildlife tourism and is exploring ways to encourage responsible wildlife tourism behaviours through her PhD at University of Queensland.
