Emily Kenway is an author and social researcher currently completing a PhD at the University of Edinburgh. Her first book, 'The Truth about Modern Slavery' (Pluto 2021), showed how exploitation is caused by government policies. Her second, 'Who Cares: the hidden crisis of caregiving and how we solve it' (Hachette 2023), investigated the world of unpaid care and was a finalist for the Orwell Prize for Political Writing. She writes long and short form journalism on social issues and chairs the New Economy Organisers Network.
