Emily Harmer

I am Lecturer in Communication and Media Studies at Loughborough University's Department of Social Sciences. My research interests focus on historical changes in political news coverage in the UK. I have analysed the changing representations of women as politicians, voters, and politicians’ relatives in British newspaper coverage of all general elections from 1918-2015 as well as broader changes in political coverage. I am particularly interested in the relationships between media, politics and gender and their historical development.
